Paul Moriarty (born 19 May 1946) is a British actor from London. He is best known for playing Detective Sergeant Jake Barrett in the ITV series *The Gentle Touch* (1980–1984) and the gangster George Palmer in the BBC soap opera *EastEnders* (1996–1998).

Moriarty has frequently been cast in police or criminal roles across British television. He played the recurring character Sgt Bill Wells in *A Touch of Frost* (1992–1997) and appeared as Colonel Forster in the 1995 BBC adaptation of *Pride and Prejudice*. His other credits include guest roles in series such as *Casualty*, *The Bill*, *Ashes to Ashes* and *Shakespeare & Hathaway – Private Investigators*.
