## Biography

Paul Murphy is a British television director and producer. He grew up in Bolton, Lancashire, and after travelling and attending film school graduated with first-class honours. He lectured at the University of Salford while making award-winning short films, including *I'm Frank Morgan*.

Murphy began directing continuing dramas such as *Brookside*, *Casualty* and *Holby City*. He went on to direct episodes of *Doctor Who* (2014), *Death in Paradise* (2015), *Cuckoo*, *Galavant* (2016) and *American Housewife*. He joined the Directors Guild of America and has worked between the United States and the United Kingdom.

Later credits include directing and executive producing *Red Election* (2021) and *North Sea Connection* (2022).
