Paul R. Gurian is an American film producer and screenwriter. Born on 18 October 1946 in New Haven, Connecticut, he produced short films including *The Garden Party* (1973) and the television film *Bernice Bobs Her Hair* (1976) before making his feature debut as producer of *Cutter's Way* (1981).

He subsequently produced *Peggy Sue Got Married* (1986) and *The Viking Sagas* (1995), for which he also wrote the screenplay, and served as executive producer on *The Seventh Sign* (1988) and *Arizona Dream* (1993). Earlier, after attending Staunton Military Academy and briefly studying at New York University, he ran a bakery and wine shop in Vermont and collaborated on films with director Jack Sholder.
