## Biography

Paul Satterfield was an American animator and director. He began his career at Walt Disney Productions as an animator on several animated shorts in the late 1930s, including *Farmyard Symphony* (1938), *Boat Builders* (1938), *Ugly Duckling* (1939) and *Beach Picnic* (1939).

Satterfield directed the 'Rite of Spring' segment of the animated feature *Fantasia* (1940). He later served as sequence director on *Bambi* (1942). His other credits include directing the short *A World is Born* (1955, uncredited) and writing the short *Wheels of Progress* (1953).
