## Biography

Paul Wilmshurst is a British television director, producer and writer. He studied English at the University of Cambridge and journalism at City University, London, before working in news and factual programmes and directing documentaries.

He directed three episodes of *Doctor Who* series 8 in 2014, including "Kill the Moon", "Mummy on the Orient Express" and the Christmas special "Last Christmas". Other credits include episodes of *Strike Back* (2010–2020), *Da Vinci's Demons* (2013), *Indian Summers* (2016), *Jamestown* (2017–2018), *The Last Kingdom* (2022) and *The Day of the Jackal* (2024).

Wilmshurst wrote and directed the documentary *Hiroshima* (2005), which won an International Emmy, and the drama *Forgiven* (2008), for which an actress won an International Emmy. He has received BAFTA nominations and lives in North London.
