## Biography

Paul Zastupnevich (1921–1997) was an American costume designer active in film from 1959 to 1980. He was born in Homestead, Pennsylvania, and trained in fashion design before working in stage productions as both actor and designer. He later moved to Hollywood and collaborated extensively with producer and director Irwin Allen.

Zastupnevich designed costumes for several Allen productions, including *The Poseidon Adventure* (1972), *The Towering Inferno* (1974), *The Swarm* (1978), *Beyond the Poseidon Adventure* (1979) and *When Time Ran Out...* (1980). He received three Academy Award nominations for Best Costume Design for films produced by Allen. He also worked on television series such as *Lost in Space* and *Land of the Giants*, and maintained a clothing line under the label 'The House of Z'.
