## Biography

Peer Raben (born Wilhelm Rabenbauer) was a German composer. He attended the Musische Gymnasium Straubing and, in 1966, co-founded the Action Theatre in Munich, which became the Anti Theatre in 1968. There he worked as a writer, composer and director, and produced several of Rainer Werner Fassbinder's early films.

Raben composed the music for most of Fassbinder's feature films, including *Fox and His Friends* (1975), *The Marriage of Maria Braun* (1979), *Lola* (1981), *Lili Marleen* (1981) and *Querelle* (1982). He later scored films by other directors, among them Wong Kar-wai's *2046* (2004) and the episode he contributed to *Eros* (2004). In 2006 he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the World Soundtrack Academy.
