## Biography

Penelope Skinner is a British playwright and screenwriter. Born in Reading in 1978, she began writing for the stage in her late twenties after seeing a production at the Bush Theatre. Her first play, *Fucked*, premiered at the Old Red Lion in London in 2008.

Skinner’s subsequent stage works include *Eigengrau* (2010) at the Bush Theatre and *The Village Bike* (2011) at the Royal Court Theatre, which earned her the George Devine Award and the Evening Standard Award for Most Promising Playwright. She has also written episodes for the Channel 4 series *Fresh Meat* (2011–2016) and co-wrote the screenplay for the film *How I Live Now* (2013). Later television credits include creating and writing *The Following Events Are Based on a Pack of Lies* (2023).
