He began his career in the late 1980s and has credits on films including *The Killing Time* (1987), *Point Break* (1991), *A Kid in King Arthur's Court* (1995), *She's All That* (1999), *Pay It Forward* (2000), *Serendipity* (2001), *The Wedding Planner* (2001), *National Lampoon's Van Wilder* (2002), *Wedding Crashers* (2005), *Employee of the Month* (2006) and *Old Dogs* (2009). He also served as executive producer on the 2015 remake of *Point Break*.

Abrams has been married to actress Doran Clark since 1980.
