## Biography

Peter Avanzino is an American animation director. He began his career in the early 1990s as a storyboard artist on *The Simpsons* before moving to directing roles on series including *The Ren & Stimpy Show*, *Duckman* and *The Wild Thornberrys*.

Since joining Rough Draft Studios in 1998, Avanzino has directed numerous episodes of *Futurama* (from 1999) and served as supervising director on later seasons as well as on *Disenchantment* (2018–2023). He has also directed episodes of *Drawn Together* and *Sit Down, Shut Up*, and the 2014 special *How Murray Saved Christmas*. He received a Primetime Emmy Award for his work on *Futurama*.
