## Biography

Peter Baird was an American puppeteer and actor. The son of puppeteers Bil Baird and Cora Baird, he began working in their marionette productions in the 1970s.

He performed as one of the puppeteers portraying Howard T. Duck in the 1986 film *Howard the Duck*. Baird also worked as an additional Muppet performer on *The Muppet Movie* (1979) and *The Muppets Take Manhattan* (1984). His television credits include puppeteering Grace the Bass on the children's series *Shining Time Station* (1989–1993) and contributions to the 1995 film *Davy Jones' Locker*, for which he also co-wrote the script.

Baird died in New York City in 2004.
