Peter Bernstein is an American composer. Born on 10 April 1951 in New York City, he is the son of composer Elmer Bernstein, with whom he frequently collaborated as orchestrator and co-composer.

His film credits as composer include *Silent Rage* (1982), *Bolero* (1984), *The Ewok Adventure* (1984), *Ewoks: The Battle for Endor* (1985), *My Science Project* (1985) and *Canadian Bacon* (1995). He composed the episode scores for the Showtime anthology series *Fallen Angels* (1993), for which his father wrote the main and end themes.

Bernstein has also written music for television series including *21 Jump Street* (1987), *Walker, Texas Ranger* and *Masters of Horror* (2005). He has worked as an orchestrator and score consultant on later *Ghostbusters* films.
