## Biography

Peter Buckman is an English writer and literary agent. His screenwriting credits include an episode of the television series *Inspector Morse* (1989), three episodes of *The House of Eliott* (1991), the television film *Unnatural Causes* (1993), and the television movie *The Tale of Sweeney Todd* (1997). He also contributed to the screenplay for the film *Appointment with Death* (1988).

Buckman has worked in publishing for many years, serving on the editorial board of Penguin Books and as a commissioning editor for the New American Library in New York. He has published novels, non-fiction, a biography and short stories. In 2003 he founded The Ampersand Agency, representing authors including Vikas Swarup and the estate of Georgette Heyer. In 2025 he began publishing a series of crime novels, 'The Pumpernickel Mysteries', under his own imprint.
