Peter Gabriel (born Peter Brian Gabriel) is an English singer, musician and songwriter. He rose to fame as the lead vocalist and flautist of the progressive rock group Genesis before embarking on a solo career.

Gabriel has composed scores for several films, including *Rabbit-Proof Fence* (2002). He has also produced and promoted world music and been involved in humanitarian work.
