## Biography

Peter Hambleton is a New Zealand actor and stage director. He graduated from Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School in 1982 with a Diploma in Acting and has been a mainstay of the Wellington theatre scene, performing in numerous stage productions and directing several Shakespeare plays. In 2002 he was a New Zealand Shakespeare’s Globe International Actors’ Fellow.

Hambleton is known for playing the Dwarf Glóin in Peter Jackson’s *The Hobbit* film trilogy (2012–2014), also providing the voice and motion capture for William the stone troll in the first film. His other screen credits include appearances in *The Brokenwood Mysteries* (2015) and various New Zealand television dramas and films.
