## Biography

Peter Lance is an American writer, journalist and author. He began his career as a reporter for his hometown paper, the Newport Daily News, before earning an M.S. from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law. He worked as a producer and correspondent for WNET and ABC News, winning five Emmy Awards for investigative reporting.

In 1987 Lance moved into screenwriting, serving as a writer and story editor on *Miami Vice* and *Crime Story*. He later became show runner on *Wiseguy*, co-created the series *Missing Persons*, and worked as a writer and producer on *JAG* and *The Sentinel*. He has also written novels, including the best-seller *First Degree Burn*, and non-fiction books on organised crime and terrorism.
