Peter Ruric was the screenwriting pseudonym of American writer George Caryl Sims (1902–1966). He contributed the story and screenplay for the Universal horror film *The Black Cat* (1934), directed by Edgar G. Ulmer and starring Boris Karloff and Béla Lugosi.

Ruric's other film credits include the screenplay for *Affairs of a Gentleman* (1934) and story or screenplay work on *Twelve Crowded Hours* (1939), *Grand Central Murder* (1942) and *Mademoiselle Fifi* (1944). He was also a pulp fiction author under the name Paul Cain, notably with the novel *Fast One* (1933).
