## Biography

Peter Suschitzky (born 25 July 1941) is a British cinematographer and photographer. He studied at the Institut des hautes études cinématographiques in Paris and began his career as a clapper boy before becoming a camera operator.

He is known for his long collaboration with director David Cronenberg, serving as director of photography on films including *Dead Ringers* (1988), *Naked Lunch* (1991), *Crash* (1996), *eXistenZ* (1999), *A History of Violence* (2005), *Eastern Promises* (2007) and *Maps to the Stars* (2014). Other credits include *The Rocky Horror Picture Show* (1975), *The Empire Strikes Back* (1980) and *Mars Attacks!* (1996). He is the son of cinematographer Wolfgang Suschitzky and has received four Genie Awards for his work with Cronenberg.
