Peter Syvertsen is an American actor and writer. Born on 14 August 1953, he began his professional career in Chicago theatre, where he co-directed a production of Harold Pinter's *The Birthday Party* at the Court Theatre and received a 1979 Joseph Jefferson Citation for Director of a Play.

Syvertsen has appeared in supporting roles in numerous films and television productions. His credits include FBI Agent Freemont in *A Simple Plan* (1998), President Fletcher in *Dear White People* (2014), a paramedic in *The Mighty Ducks* (1992), and smaller parts in *Jingle All the Way* (1996), *Joe Somebody* (2001) and *Best Man Down* (2012). He has also written for short films.
