## Biography

Phil Cunningham is a producer, director and writer working in animation. He co-founded Sunrise Animation Studios in Cape Town, South Africa, with his wife Jacqui Cunningham. Originally from Zimbabwe, he previously wrote and produced the 2003 stop-motion feature *The Legend of the Sky Kingdom* and produced the *Jungle Beat* television series and its 2020 feature film.

Cunningham co-directed and served as producer and executive producer on the 2025 animated biblical musical *David*, which he conceived decades earlier. The film was produced by Sunrise Animation Studios in collaboration with Angel Studios and 2521 Entertainment.
