## Biography

Philip Casson is a British television director and producer. Born on 20 December 1928, he trained as a dancer and performed as a choreographer with Ballet Montmartre before beginning his television career in the 1950s and 1960s.

His early directing credits include episodes of variety and comedy series such as *Frost on Sunday* (1968–1970) and *Bowler* (1973). He directed numerous episodes of *The Muppet Show* (1976) from the second season onwards, as well as episodes of *Spitting Image* (1984). Later work encompasses *The Bill* (1984), *Casualty* (1986), and 171 episodes of *EastEnders* (1990–2008).
