Philippe du Janerand is a French actor and writer. Born Philippe Durand on 6 May 1959 in Paris, he is the son of painter Daniel du Janerand. He studied at the lycée Paul-Valéry before turning to acting, beginning in the theatre under directors including Didier Flamand, Jean-Hugues Anglade and Gilles Bouillon.

Since the 1970s he has appeared regularly in supporting roles in French cinema and television. His credits include *Nikita* (1990) as the Ambassador and his double Jules, *Taxi* (1998) as a passenger to the airport, *The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc* (1999) as Dijon, *The Chorus* (2004) as Mr Langlois, *The Women on the 6th Floor* (2011) as Piquer, *Happy End* (2017) as Maître Barin and *Maigret* (2022) as the judge. He has also served on juries at several short-film festivals.
