Philippe Dumat was a French actor and voice actor. He was born on 4 March 1925 in Neuilly-sur-Seine and died on 10 January 2006 in Saint-Cloud.

Dumat began his career in theatre in Paris in 1943 and later performed in the provinces. In 1956 he joined the Branquignols comedy troupe. He appeared in films including *Le Trou* (1960) as a prison guard, *The Umbrellas of Cherbourg* (1964), *The Soft Skin* (1964) and *The Little Bather* (1968).

He became prominent in French dubbing, voicing characters such as Gargamel in *The Smurfs*, Scrooge McDuck in *DuckTales* and Obi-Wan Kenobi (Alec Guinness) in the original *Star Wars* trilogy. He was married to actress Nicole Vervil.
