## Biography

Phillip P. Keene is an American actor born on 5 September 1966 in Los Angeles, California. Before entering acting he worked as a flight attendant for Pan American World Airways from 1987 to 1991 and studied history and art history at the University of California.

He is best known for portraying Buzz Watson, the LAPD civilian surveillance coordinator, in the TNT series *The Closer* (2005–2012) and its spin-off *Major Crimes* (2012–2018). His other credits include *Deadly Shores* (2018) and *Sherlock & Daughter* (2025). Keene has received Screen Actors Guild Award nominations for his ensemble work on *The Closer*.

He has been married to television writer and producer James Duff since 2013.
