## Biography

Phoebe Gittins is a New Zealand screenwriter and filmmaker. She has worked as a writer with Arty Papageorgiou since they were teenagers making short films together.

Gittins co-wrote the screenplay for the animated film *The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim* (2024) with Papageorgiou, from a story by Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews. She is also credited as co-writer on the forthcoming *The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum* (2027), directed by Andy Serkis. Earlier credits include co-writing and co-directing the short film *The Sorrows* (2013). She is the daughter of screenwriter Philippa Boyens.
