Phyllis George was an American actress and sportscaster. She played Linda Banks in the 2000 film *Meet the Parents*.

Born in Denton, Texas, George was crowned Miss Texas 1970 and Miss America 1971. In 1975 she became one of the first women to hold a prominent on-air role in national sports broadcasting as a co-host of CBS's *The NFL Today*. She served as First Lady of Kentucky from 1979 to 1983 during the governorship of her then-husband John Y. Brown Jr. Her other screen credits include an uncredited appearance in *Funny Girl* (1968) and a guest spot on *The Muppet Show* (1976).
