## Biography

Piero Poletto (1925–1978) was an Italian production designer and art director. He trained at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome, where he obtained a diploma in scenography, and also studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera.

He is best known for his work with director Michelangelo Antonioni on *L'Avventura* (1960), *L'Eclisse* (1962) and *Red Desert* (1964), as well as *The Passenger* (1975). Other credits include production design on *Sunflower* (1970) and *All the Way Boys* (1972), and art direction on *The 10th Victim* (1965). Over a career spanning more than twenty years he contributed to nearly fifty films.
