## Biography

Pierre Jolivet is a French film director, screenwriter, actor and producer. Born on 9 October 1952 in Saint-Mandé, France, he began his career in the 1970s as part of a comedy duo with his brother Marc Jolivet before moving into film.

He collaborated with Luc Besson on the post-apocalyptic film *Le Dernier Combat* (The Last Battle, 1983), in which he played the lead role of The Man, co-wrote the screenplay and co-produced. Jolivet made his directorial debut with *Strictement personnel* (1985) and went on to direct films including *My Little Business* (1999) and *Green Tide* (2023). His film *Zim and Co.* (2005) screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival, and *The Night Watchman* (2015) won the Golden Goblet Award for Best Feature Film.
