Pitt Herbert was an American character actor. Born in New York City, he appeared in numerous films and television series from the 1950s to the 1980s.

His film credits include *Hud* (1963) as Mr. Larker, *Dear Brigitte* (1965) as the bank manager, and *The North Avenue Irregulars* (1979) as Mr. Thurber. He also had roles in *While the City Sleeps* (1956) and *Return to Peyton Place* (1961). On television he appeared in episodes of *The Twilight Zone*, *Batman*, *Bonanza*, *Get Smart*, *Mission: Impossible*, *Lost in Space*, *Hogan's Heroes* and *The Andy Griffith Show*, among many others. Earlier in his career he performed on Broadway in productions including *Winged Victory* (1943), *Galileo* (1947) and *Point of No Return* (1951).
