Rafael Casal is an American actor, writer and producer. Born on 8 August 1985 in Berkeley, California, he grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and first appeared on television performing on three seasons of HBO's Def Poetry Jam.

Casal co-wrote, co-produced and starred in the 2018 film *Blindspotting* alongside Daveed Diggs; he later served as co-creator, writer, director and showrunner on the Starz series adaptation (2021–2023), reprising his role as Miles. His other screen credits include *Bad Education* (2019), *The Good Lord Bird* (2020), *Are You Afraid of the Dark?* (2019) and the second season of *Loki* (2023) as Hunter X-5 / Brad Wolfe. He co-founded the BARS workshop at The Public Theater in New York with Diggs.

In 2026 Casal played Neil Otero in the Netflix series *The Boroughs*.
