## Biography

Ralph Rosenblum (13 October 1925 – 6 September 1995) was an American film editor. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he began his career as an apprentice in the US Office of War Information during the Second World War and later worked as an assistant editor on documentaries including *Louisiana Story* (1948).

He edited four films for director Sidney Lumet in the 1960s and collaborated extensively with Woody Allen, editing *Take the Money and Run* (1969), *Bananas* (1971), *Sleeper* (1973), *Love and Death* (1975) and *Interiors* (1978). Rosenblum shared the 1977 BAFTA Award for Best Editing with Wendy Greene Bricmont for *Annie Hall* (1977). Other credits include *The Producers* (1968), *The Pawnbroker* (1965) and *Fail Safe* (1964).

In 1979 he co-authored the memoir *When the Shooting Stops, the Cutting Begins: A Film Editor's Story*. He later taught at the graduate film school at Columbia University.
