## Biography

Ramon Bieri was an American actor. He appeared as Cato in the 1973 film *Badlands*.

Bieri began his stage career in 1954, appearing on and off-Broadway, including in a 1975 production of *Death of a Salesman*. He later performed with the ensemble at San Diego's Old Globe Theatre. On screen from the early 1960s, he had a prolific career as a character actor in television series and films through the 1970s and 1980s, with roles including Major Manchek in *The Andromeda Strain* (1971), an uncredited part in *The Conversation* (1974), Corlette in *Sorcerer* (1977) and appearances in *Reds* (1981). He starred in the short-lived NBC sitcom *Joe's World* (1979–80).

Bieri was a decorated Korean War veteran. He died in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, on 27 May 2001.
