## Biography

Raoul Lévy (also credited as Raoul J. Lévy) was a Belgian-born French film producer, writer and director. Born in Antwerp on 14 April 1922, he began working in the film industry after the Second World War and established his own production company in the early 1950s.

He is best known for producing a series of films starring Brigitte Bardot, including *...And God Created Woman* (1956), *Love Is My Profession* (1958) and *The Truth* (1960). Other credits include *Seven Days... Seven Nights* (1960), *Hail, Mafia* (1965) and *The Defector* (1966). He also produced and appeared as John Bogus in Jean-Luc Godard’s *2 or 3 Things I Know About Her* (1967).

Lévy directed and wrote several of his later films. He died in Saint-Tropez on 31 December 1966.
