## Biography

Reatha Grey was an American actress. Born in Los Angeles, California, she graduated from Los Angeles High School and Los Angeles City College, where she studied theatre arts. After a USO tour of East Asia in 1974, she began appearing in television and film, including roles in *Three's Company* (1976), *General Hospital* and the blaxploitation film *Welcome Home Brother Charles* (1975).

In the 1980s she operated the Grey Images Extra Casting Company. She retired from acting in 1991 to work as a chaplain and missionary before returning in 2007. Grey appeared in numerous guest roles on series including *How I Met Your Mother* (2013), *It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia*, *NCIS*, *Castle*, *This Is Us*, *iCarly*, *Shameless*, *The Newsroom*, *Good Girls* and *Dead to Me*. She played Lorraine, Ava's grandmother, in the 2022 episode of *Abbott Elementary*.

She also featured in *Betty White's Off Their Rockers* and received awards recognition for that series and for her performance in the film *Betrothed*.
