## Biography

Rebecca Naomi Jones is an American actress and singer. She received a BFA in drama from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and appeared in national tours of *Rent* and *Caroline, or Change* before making her Off-Broadway debut in *Passing Strange* in 2007.

Jones made her Broadway debut in *Passing Strange* (2008) as Sherry, Renata and Desi, reprising the roles in the 2009 film adaptation directed by Spike Lee. She is also known for her Broadway performances in *American Idiot* (2010) and *Hedwig and the Angry Inch* (2015), and for being the first woman of colour to play Laurey in *Oklahoma!* (2019), for which she received a Drama Desk Award nomination. Her film work includes *The Big Sick* (2017) and *Someone Great* (2019).

On television, Jones has appeared in episodes of *Fringe* (2008), *Law & Order: Special Victims Unit* (2011), *Blue Bloods* and *And Just Like That…* (2021).
