## Biography

René Le Hénaff was a French film editor and director. Born in Saigon, Vietnam, he began his career as a film editor in the late 1920s, working on titles including *Under the Roofs of Paris* (1930), *À Nous la Liberté* (1931) and several films directed by Marcel Carné and René Clair.

He edited *Port of Shadows* (1938), *Hôtel du Nord* (1938) and *Daybreak* (1939). From 1935 he also directed feature films, among them *Colonel Chabert* (1943). He continued editing into the 1960s and retired from filmmaking in 1968.
