## Biography

Rex Robbins (born Rex McNicol Robbins) was an American character actor of stage and screen. He made his Broadway debut in 1963 as the doctor in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and appeared in more than 30 plays and films over his career. He was an alumnus of Yale University.

Robbins is known for his stage work, including the role of Herbie opposite Angela Lansbury in the 1974 Broadway revival of Gypsy and as the Narrator/Mysterious Man in the first national tour of Into the Woods. His film credits include Rollie in Shaft (1971), Roger Sherman in 1776 (1972), and Mr. Levinson in The Royal Tenenbaums (2001). He died in 2003.
