Rex Weiner is a writer and journalist. One of the first writers hired for the television series *Miami Vice*, he wrote the episode "Glades" (1984).

His screen credits include the characters for *The Adventures of Ford Fairlane* (1990) and the story and screenplay for *Silent Night, Deadly Night III: Better Watch Out!* (1989). He co-wrote and served as associate producer on the television film *Forgotten Prisoners: The Amnesty Files* (1990).

Weiner has worked as a journalist for publications including *Vanity Fair*, *The New Yorker* and *LA Weekly*. He was a founding editor of *High Times* magazine and co-author of *The Woodstock Census* (1979). He has also written and directed for the stage.
