Rhea Perlman is an American actress. She is best known for playing head waitress Carla Tortelli in the sitcom *Cheers* (1982–1993).

Perlman studied drama at Hunter College in New York. She received ten Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her work on *Cheers*, winning four times (1984, 1985, 1986 and 1989), and was nominated six times for a Golden Globe Award in the same category.

Her other credits include the films *Matilda* (1996) and *Barbie* (2023), as well as voice roles in animated series. She is married to actor Danny DeVito.
