He trained at the Silvio d'Amico National Academy of Dramatic Arts and made his film debut in 1949 in *Adam and Eve*, directed by Mario Mattoli. He appeared in more than 140 films until his retirement in 2014, as well as in theatre productions with Vittorio Gassman and others. Garrone is known for his role as Riccardo in *La Dolce Vita* (1960). Other credits include *Fiasco in Milan* (1959), *The Traffic Policeman* (1960), *Fantozzi Still Suffers* (1983), *Christmas Holidays* (1983), *Paprika* (1991) and *Amore 14* (2009).
