## Biography

Richard Baratta is an American film producer and jazz musician. Born in Poughkeepsie, New York, in 1950, he initially pursued a career in music before entering the film industry in 1984 as a location manager on *Desperately Seeking Susan*.

He advanced through roles including unit production manager on films such as the *Spider-Man* series (2002–2007) and *Doctor Strange* (2016). As a producer or co-producer, his credits include *Across the Universe* (2007), *The Taking of Pelham 123* (2009), *The Wolf of Wall Street* (2013), *Joker* (2019) and *The Irishman* (2019). He has also released several jazz albums and received a Grammy nomination.
