Richard Bennett, born Clarence Charles William Henry Richard Bennett, was an American actor. He began his career on the stage in the 1890s and appeared in silent films before taking character roles in sound films.

His film credits include Gustav Sondelius in *Arrowsmith* (1931), John Glidden in *If I Had a Million* (1932), Major Amberson in *The Magnificent Ambersons* (1942) and the Ship's Captain in *Journey into Fear* (1943). He was the father of actresses Constance Bennett, Barbara Bennett and Joan Bennett with his second wife, actress Adrienne Morrison.
