## Biography

Richard Biggs was an American television and stage actor. Born in Columbus, Ohio, on 18 March 1960, he studied theatre at the University of Southern California on a scholarship. He briefly taught at a Los Angeles high school before his first major television role as Dr Marcus Hunter on the soap opera *Days of Our Lives* (1987–1994).

Biggs appeared as Dr Stephen Franklin on the science-fiction series *Babylon 5* (1994–1998) and reprised the part in related television films and the spin-off *Crusade*. His other television credits include recurring roles on *Any Day Now*, *Guiding Light* and *Strong Medicine*, as well as guest appearances on series such as *ER*, *JAG* and *Touched by an Angel*. He performed in stage productions including *The Tempest*, *Cymbeline* and *The Taming of the Shrew*. Biggs died in Los Angeles on 22 May 2004, aged 44.
