## Biography

Richard Brock was a British television producer specialising in natural history documentaries. He worked at the BBC Natural History Unit in Bristol for 35 years, joining after studying zoology and botany at Cambridge University. His early collaboration with David Attenborough began with *Eastward with Attenborough* (1973).

Brock served as one of the producers on the landmark series *Life on Earth* (1979), contributing to four episodes, and was executive producer on *The Living Planet* (1984). He left the BBC in 2006 and founded Living Planet Productions and the Brock Initiative, producing over 100 films on environmental topics, including the *Wildlife Winners and Losers* series. He died in Bristol on 30 December 2024, aged 86.
