## Biography

Richard C. Kratina was an American cinematographer and camera operator. Born in Flushing, New York, he worked primarily in New York-based productions from the late 1960s onwards, often credited as Dick Kratina.

He served as director of photography on *Love Story* (1970) and co-director of photography on *Hair* (1979). Other films in which he held principal photography roles include *The Sentinel* (1977), *The Super Cops* (1974) and *Aaron Loves Angela* (1975). He was also a camera operator on *Midnight Cowboy* (1969) and provided second-unit photography or additional camera work on titles such as *batteries not included* (1987) and *Boomerang* (1992). Kratina received a Primetime Emmy nomination for his television work.
