Richard Cahoon was an American film and television editor. Born in New Jersey on 1 October 1905, he began his career in the late 1920s and worked on more than 40 feature films over five decades.

His early credits include *The Black Room* (1935), *Crime and Punishment* (1935) and *The Indian Fighter* (1955). He later became a prolific television editor, working on series such as *Perry Mason* (1957–1966), for which he edited many episodes across its run, and *The Fugitive* (1963).

Cahoon received a Primetime Emmy nomination and two Eddie Awards from the American Cinema Editors. He died in Los Angeles on 19 September 1985.
