## Biography

Richard Danus (26 February 1936 – 14 April 2020) was an American writer and director. He contributed to the *Star Trek* franchise as a writer on *Star Trek: The Next Generation* (1989–1990), where he also served as executive story editor, and on *Star Trek: Deep Space Nine* (1993–1995). His DS9 credits include the teleplay for the first-season episode 'Battle Lines' and the story for the fourth-season episode 'The Sword of Kahless'.

Danus wrote for other television series including *Serpico* (1976), *Blue Thunder* (1984) and *O'Hara* (1987). He wrote and directed the feature film *No Place to Hide* (1992).
