## Biography

Richard Foronjy was an American character actor. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he began his screen career in 1973 with a small role in *Serpico* and went on to appear in dozens of films and television series until the early 2000s.

He is known for roles including Tony Darvo in *Midnight Run* (1988), Pete Amadesso in *Carlito's Way* (1993), Arnold Plettschner in *Repo Man* (1984) and appearances in *Once Upon a Time in America* (1984), *Ghostbusters II* (1989) and *Serpico* (1973). Earlier in life he served time in prison for armed robbery before turning to acting. In 2020 he published the memoir *From the Mob to the Movies*.
