## Biography

Richard B. Goodwin is a British film producer. He began his career in the film industry in the 1950s, working as a location and production manager before becoming an associate producer on Franco Zeffirelli's *Romeo and Juliet* (1968). He formed a long-term producing partnership with John Brabourne.

Goodwin produced several adaptations of Agatha Christie novels directed by Sidney Lumet and Guy Hamilton, including *Murder on the Orient Express* (1974), *Death on the Nile* (1978), *The Mirror Crack'd* (1980) and *Evil Under the Sun* (1982). With Brabourne, he produced David Lean's *A Passage to India* (1984), which received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture. Other credits include *The Tales of Beatrix Potter* (1971) and *Little Dorrit* (1988). He later served as executive producer on *Seven Years in Tibet* (1997).

Goodwin has been married to director and screenwriter Christine Edzard since 1969. They co-founded Sands Films.
