Richard Laxton is a British film and television director. Born in London on 5 July 1967, he began his career with the short film *I Bet It Will Rain* (1992) and subsequently directed numerous television episodes, including work on *Lovejoy* (1994) and all 25 episodes of the sitcom *Him & Her* (2010–2013).

Laxton’s feature film credits include *Life and Lyrics* (2006), *Grow Your Own* (2007), *An Englishman in New York* (2009) and *Effie Gray* (2014). His television work also encompasses *Burton and Taylor* (2013), *River* (2015), *Mrs Wilson* (2018) and *The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe* (2022).
